December 2025 saw the 30th Anniversary of our artisan gift shop’s official opening.
In 1994 a small group of CACA members approached the CACA Management Committee suggesting that a gift shop (then called the ‘Gift Gallery’) might be established for members to sell their various crafts to the public. It took a lot of work and time to add the gift shop to the building. Two grants were successful – one from Jupiter’s Casino for $20,000 and the second from Arts Queensland for $15,000.
This extension would not have been possible without past committees establishing a Building Fund Account for money raised by members, fairs and other fundraising events.
The official opening was held on 2nd December 1995 by Mayor Des Dwyer with support from several councillors and Declan McNamara from the Arts Queensland. Past and present members and friends enjoyed the morning.
We look forward to the next many years of showcasing the diverse talent of the members of the Caloundra Arts Centre!
