Needlepoint / Tapestry

Needlepoint / Tapestry

Create, Connect and Stitch Together

The Needlepoint / Tapestry group meets every Thursday from 9am – 12pm.

Needlepoint / Tapestry commenced at CACA in 1997 as ‘Creative Canvas’. An enthusiastic tutor, Yo Lickerman, initially got it all started. In this small, friendly group we enjoy exchanging knowledge and skills of the craft, as well as sharing the best morning teas. Some of our members travel from as far as Bribie Island in the south, to Cooran in the north. We create a mixture of cross stitch, traditional and creative tapestry. Creative tapestry has more adventurous embroidery stitching.

Members share roles and responsibilities required to run and maintain the group. They also help with the set up and running of the two annual CACA Artisan Fairs, where they have the opportunity to sell their work. Additionally, some members have their work for sale in North Street Made artisan gift shop.

Needlepoint / Tapestry is a group of enthusiastic artisans who believe there will always be a place for this artform, and their interest will keep it going. A warm invite is extended to visitors to come and see what we do. We welcome new members, enquire for a trial session!
