The Caloundra Potters group meets every Tuesday and on the 4th Monday of each month, from 9am-4pm and 6pm-9pm.

Caloundra Potters has around 60 members. This friendly group of creatives shares a great environment for self-guided potters of diverse interests and expertise to have fun, explore techniques and develop skills working with clay. Members practise wheel throwing, hand building, sculpture, slip casting, mould-making and glazing.

In-house and tutored workshops are offered in response to group needs and interests. The studio is equipped with three kilns (two electric and one gas), as well as a small lustre kiln available for group members’ use (firing charges apply).

Members share roles and responsibilities required to run and maintain the group. They also help with the set up and running of the two annual CACA Artisan Fairs, where they have the opportunity to sell their work. Additionally, some members have their work for sale in North Street Made artisan gift shop. Caloundra Potters have exhibited at the Regional Art Gallery and Sunshine Coast Libraries.

Intakes of new members, when capacity allows, are in February and July each year.

Note: this group is self-directed. There are no “lessons” as such. New members will have experience working with clay or need to undertake some basic pottery skill training prior to joining the group.
