Whimsical Weaving – Working with fibres (Sat 18 July)

Explore a playful and intuitive approach to basketry and fibre art by creating small woven sea creatures using natural fibres and vibrant raffia. Moving beyond traditional weaving patterns, this workshop encourages experimentation with texture, form and colour.

This meditative and tactile workshop welcomes all skill levels and celebrates creativity, imagination and the expressive possibilities of fibre art.

In this workshop, you will: • Learn adaptive weaving techniques using Cocus Palm and hand-dyed raffia • Explore how to soften, shape and work with natural fibres • Experiment with alternating direction, tension and pattern to create sculptural forms • Create your own whimsical woven sea creature inspired by ocean life and organic shapes • Discover how texture and colour can evoke movement and fluidity

By the end of the workshop, you will have created a unique woven creature and gained a deeper appreciation for how natural materials and imaginative techniques can bring tiny worlds to life.

Cancellations & Refunds – Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list. – Full refunds are available with at least 14 days’ notice prior to the workshop start date. – Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start date are not eligible for a refund. – No refunds will be issued for non-attendance, partial attendance, or missed sessions.
