Sneakers – Custom-make your own

Ever wanted to turn your love of quilting into something you can wear? Join us for a 1-day workshop and sew your own pair of custom sneakers! Suitable for beginners and experienced sewists alike, this workshop will guide you through the process of creating unique handmade footwear.

In this introductory workshop, you will:

• Learn how to cut and assemble sneaker uppers using fabric of your choice
• Explore techniques for sewing curves and shaping fabric for footwear construction
• Attach your quilted uppers to pre-made sneaker soles
• Learn finishing techniques for durability, comfort, and a professional look

By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with your own handmade sneakers and the skills to create more at home.

Skill level:
– Beginners (knowledge of basic sewing techniques required; understanding of quilting basics will be advantageous)
– Intermediate

Cost:
Non-members: $295
Members: $255

– Includes sneaker kit
– An iron and ironing mat will be available for use
– Fabric kits and additional sneaker kits will be available for purchase on the day.
– Coffee & tea provided. BYO lunch.

Participants to bring:

• Your choice of fabric for outer, tongue, and lining (3 x Fat Quarters of coordinating fabrics recommended)
• Your sewing machine and matching thread for the fabric
• ¼” sewing foot
• Sewing supplies (scissors, cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler, etc.)
• Walking foot (recommended)
• Paper, scissors & pen / pencil

BOOKING POLICY

Important – please read:
– Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
– Workshops and artist talks, and facilities are for participants aged 18+.

Cancellations & Refunds
– Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.
– Full refunds are available with at least 14 days’ notice prior to the workshop start date.
– Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start date are not eligible for a refund.
– No refunds will be issued for non-attendance, partial attendance, or missed sessions.
