Josh will share insights into building and sustaining an artistic practice while living and working overseas. Through a photo presentation documenting his experiences across Florence, Mexico, the United States, and Australia, Josh explores how to establish yourself in a new cultural environment, develop meaningful professional connections, market your work, and engage authentically with local communities.

About the Artist

Josh Wright is an Australian-American representational oil painter, classically trained at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, he is known for his impressionistic plein air landscapes and portraiture, combining classical techniques with contemporary realism. His work captures the distinct light and atmosphere of regional Australia, with a focus on preserving the visual heritage of the Sunshine Coast hinterland and coastal communities. Josh also regularly teaches painting and portrait workshops throughout Queensland.
